 Spring Term Updates

May 2019

This term in science we are looking at different types of animals.  We were very lucky to have some very special visitors in class 2. Charlie from class 4, brought George, a bearded dragon, Rocky, a horse field tortoise, Abney and Teal, giant African land snails as well as a stuffed American badger, a barn owl and a kestrel.  It was really interesting to hear all about these animals.  Thank you to Charlie for sharing and Clark for helping.

April 2019

This term we have been really lucky and have been invited to visit Abingdon School Science department not once, but twice!  The first visit was for a Science Celebration Show and Certificate Presentation for our CREST Star Awards.  We really enjoyed our first visit. We got to see lots of explosions and lots of different colour flames. While we were there we also got to see all the different animals they have in the science department, our favourite was the chameleon.

Our second trip was linked to space, which is our current topic. We found out lots of information about the Earth and it’s seasons. We found out that the Earth spins on a tilted axes, it doesn’t spin upright!
