On the 18th November we were very lucky to have visitors from the Oxford Leon Association Trust (OLAT) to share with us what it is like to live in Leon. During their visit they talked about 2 charities which they support. One charity is a water charity, Nuevas Esperanzas, which helps to provide locals with clean, safe water. In their area the water naturally has arsenic in, which is poisonous. The other charity they support is called Nicaragua Education, Culture and Arts Trust (NECAT). They provide extra educational opportunities for the children of Leon. We are hoping, later on in the school year, to do some fundraising for these 2 charities.
Also during their visit we learnt a song that was written by people of Leon for the children of Oxford. It was a very special day and we are very grateful for our visitors at sharing with us.
